Puerto Plata
Puerto Plata, or as it is called because of the world's
largest deposits of amber, the Amber Coast, it is located on the northern coast
of the Dominican Republic. It combines several resorts.
Playa Dorada — an independent, tastefully designed
holiday complex of 13 hotels, each of which has its own club on the Atlantic
coast. Here guests — golf course, restaurants, an equestrian club. From Puerto
Plata airport to the hotel, located on the Playa Dorada — just 15 minutes away by bus.
Cabarete is located 15km to the east and is very
popular with windsurfers. This place is especially full of people in February
and March, when the wind blows the strongest. In Cabarete mainly rests the youth, because everything they need is available here: water sports, excellent
cuisine and, of course, the opportunity to meet new people.
Sosua — a small town, built in a quiet bay with a
large selection of shops, bars and a variety of entertainments. From the
airport of Puerto Plata and Sosua and Cabarete — 20−30 minute drive.
Beaches: In Puerto Plata — 120 square meters. km of
wonderful sandy beaches, located in the east of the city. By the way, this is
where Christopher Columbus first landed on the island.
Tours: sightseeing tour, a trip to Santo Domingo, the «Dominican Alps», a yacht tour, «jeep safari», deep sea fishing, island of Cayo
Paraiso, rafting, «the meeting with the whales» (this tour is conducted from 15
January to 15 March ).
